DRUNK REVIEW: Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

What I drank prior: we went on a brew tour on a drunk bus… I’ve been drinking all damn day. So. Drunk.

Spoiler-free Overview:
So… this is gonna have spoilers mostly because it’s the sequel to Nevernight (review here). But this is Mia and her daemons Mister Kindly and Eclipse tryna get revenge for her fam. Just like in book 1, though now she’s a full Blade. She ends up as basically a gladiator as part of her plan. Some hiccups as per usual. Some head turns. Some sexy time. And I loved it.

Spoiler-free Thoughts:

Guys I fucking missed Mia so much. This book did not let me down. And it broke me into 1,000 tiny itsy bitsy pieces.

Mia – still awesome. Still relate to her pessimism and her fierceness. Still tucking legit.

Feurin – Kinda the worst, but the other side tis Mia’s coin was a good balance.

My Galadii baes – the best. Heart shaped hands at them.

So this book was slower than the first, but I truly didn’t care at all. Every word mattered. Every bit mattered. Things are kinda chugging along then fuggin BAM shit happens and you feel like everything you knew about the world has been turned on it’s gaddamn head.

Writing Style:
O, gentlefriends.. it’s still amazing. There were fewer footnotes but still awesome

World Building:
we get more in this book and more that’s relevant to the story. Loved it.

What to pair it with:
So Jay Kristoff said in Twitter he’d pair this with Whiskey… I think that’s a great pairing. Two-fingers 😉

Rating: 5/5 ‘byss and bloody shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: Have you read this book? I have THINGS TO DISCUSS that are spoiler-y. Lmk and we can talk about them AT LENGTH.

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
