DRUNK REVIEW: Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson

Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson

What I drank prior: 5? Glasses of wine and a beer??????

Spoiler-free Overview:
ok if you’ve missed the first two that sucks but this one is about my man Dalinar. His past and his present. How is everything going to play with him and the Thrill and his bae and the whole life he created with her? No idea. Well I do.but I’ve read the book soooooooo. Anywho it’s the continuation of the Stormlight Archives in his Cosmere. There are spren (weird elemental creature-y things) and people and parshman and we’re tryna just… not let the world end? I guess?

Spoiler-free Thoughts:

Characters: guys the characters get built. Especially Dalinar. I wasn’t the biggest fan of Shallan at the beginning but I love her now.

Plot: so part one was awesome… part 2 was…. dense as fucking hell… and then part 3 was in-fucking-credible. The end.

…ok maybe not the end. We get to see a lot more of the Cognitive Realm and learn more about their history. Basically the world building (i know i know wrong section but i’m drunk ok?) took things to the forefront this time. ALSO another character note (too drunk to go back( I looooove Dalinar’s back-story.

Writing Style: it’s Sanderson he’s amazing

World Building: I got so much more out of this than I thought I was gonna get. I’m so happy.

What to pair it with: tequila. You don’t know it’s coming until it’s coming.

Rating: 5/5 shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: This was my least fave of the three out so far. For those of you who’ve read it, how do the books rate? For me its 2, 1, 3. (editor’s note: in no way do I think the book was bad, it just wasn’t my favorite…. was my favorite ending tho)

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,

  1. Dalinar’s story broke me. I know its mentioned numerous times about his past as a warlord etc. But I just was not expecting what we got.
So much information that I think I missed more than half of it!
Great review! And I agree about the tequila haha.
