Drunk Review: Age of Swords by Michael J Sullivan

Age of Swords by Michael J Sullivan

What I drank prior: 6ish beers. 🙂 drunks Sam

Spoiler-free Overview:
Okay so dude man Fae are tryna take over humans because they multiply at a far faster rate than Fae and that’s terrifying. Anywho. After book 1 we got a bunch o crap happening inter-human and extra-human. There are dwarves and demons and stuff. You know. Stuff?
Spoiler-free Thoughts:

Guys. Amazing. Like so good.

Characters:
Can we talk about how awesome the women are? Like thy know what’s up but it takes them a minute to know but once the do…. life is beautiful.  Persephone, Suri, Moya, Roan, Brin. MAN I LOVE BRIN.

I ship Raithe and Seph so hard.

Also hate the dwarfs but I’m supposed to.

The development for the characters is super strong.

Plot:
also never fucking bored. Loved it.

Writing Style:
it’s MJ Sullivan… he’s amazing. I have a new urge to read Royce and Hadrian.

World Building:
We learn a bit more about the world in this one.  alittle more about the Fae, and their fears of otherness.

What to pair it with: White wine. I have been in a white wine mood

Rating: 5/5 shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: What are your thoughts on the Fae princeling? I kinda thought he was quite childish. Also, who’s read any Riyria books? I am DYING to talk about them again.

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
Sam

  1. HAHA! I love this review XD I’m so glad I’m not the only who ships Raithe & Persephone super hard. Mawyndule (don’t know if I typed that right) was a pretty interesting character. He pissed me off all the time because of how ignorant, naive and narcissistic he was but interesting nonetheless.

I just reviewed this book too. I know it’s super late 😛
