DRUNK REVIEW: Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff (Illustrations by Marie Lu)

What I drank prior: so I finished off a box of wine and then another bottle of wine so… am I sensing judgement? This is a judgment free zone ok?

I’d also like to point out I won a death in this book and was not actually killed. I’m not super bitter about it cause the book was incredible but… kinda bitter.

Spoiler-free Overview:
ok so if you haven’t read our reviews of the first two they are here. This is a continuation of the first two but like… extended? So we’ve got the crew from the station who almost obliterated the universe with the hypo-active-hyper-drive with Astro-turf in book 2 headed black to the planet that was conquered in book 1. Shit is going down, what are we gonna do?

Spoiler-free Thoughts:
so this book was intense to say the least. Like. There were moments where i knew something was gonna happen and I had to put the book down cause I wasn’t ready, emotionally or physically. This book was so good.

Characters: we got all our faves back plus a couple of new additions and I still loved them all. Most of all AIDAN. It was just…. the whole bit with figuring out AI and how it connects with life is just… too much for Sam’s drunk mind to handle. It was incredible.

Plot: So mostly it was GOGOGO but it had a few minutes of lag. But once it got to that point… holy hell you can’t stop.

Writing Style: as always the multi media format they chose to steal the story with was incredible.

World Building: you don’t need much more here. It’s kinda already built.

What to pair it with: Tequila. My bestest friend ever.

Rating: 5/5 shits and giggles

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: What did you guys think of this? What are you reading right now??

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
