Drunk Review: A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

What I drank prior: I’m on my 3rd Parker-poured (read: stupid tequila-mix ratio) margarita.

Spoiler-free Overview:

So, this is written in one POV, my man Monty, who is the heir to a dukedom (??) in England. He really would rather party -who wouldn’t- than learn how to run the estate that will become his. So he promises daddy that he’ll take one more year of partying on a Tour through England with his BFF and Sister. Things are complicated though… cause Monty is in love with BFF… Percy (my precious cinnamon roll). Daddy doesn’t like that Monty is gay, Monty lashes out and gets into trouble. Events happen…

Spoiler-free Thoughts:

Can we please talk about how they address racism and sexism in this book? It was amazing. PLUS she fucking talks about periods. Just yes. All the yes. This book was fucking adorable. The end.

I loved these characters so much. Especially Percy. He’s my fave of all time. Felicity, the sister, is a very well written woman and I’m a big fan of that.

So the plot did not go where I thought it would, and that was a con for a lot of bloggers I’ve seen but I didn’t hate it at all.

Writing Style:

Was pretty fucking brilliant. I spent a lot of time saying “Monty, no…..”

What to pair it with:Strawberry Daquiri with RUM. All the Rum.

Rating: 4/5 Shots. FLUFF AND WONDER

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: What did you think of this one? Are you planning to read it?

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
