Drunk Review: Now I Rise by Kiersten White

Now I Rise by Kiersten White

What I drank prior: All of the tequila and triple sec… so much of it.

Spoiler-free Overview:

Pennie start by saying if you haven’t read And I Darken, don’t read this review. But you can read THIS ONE. Story starts a year after Lada leaves to go get Wichalia. Basically… Lada tryna find allies… Mehmed is tryna get rid of Radu (maybe?)… and Radu tryna do what he can to make Mehmed love him by doing whatever he asks. Even if it means going to Constantinople as a spy. GASP

Spoiler-free Thoughts:

This book did not disappoint as a sequel. I adored it as much as the first.

Characters: LOOK I really love Lada. Lol. She’s kind of a monster but I love her. I also love Radu. Mehmed can rot in the seven hells.

I also really liked the side characters in this this time. Nazira was integral in the whole thing. I really love her and Radu’s partnership. Also… Cypris… LOVED him.

So the plot was secondary in my opinion to the characters but it’s not like nothing happened. Lada figuring her shit out… Radu figuring his shit out… and then THINGS HAPPEN. I don’t want to go into spoilers right now… but we can have a further discussion in the comments if you want.

Writing Style:

As always it was great.

What to pair it with: Beer. All of the beer. Like a dark beer.

Rating: 5/5 Shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: I know the first one has been out for a while, what do you think of Mehmed?

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
