DRUNK REVIEW: A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer (Cursebreakers #3)

A Vow So Bold and Deadly by Brigid Kemmerer (Cursebreakers #3)

Reviewed by Sam!

I reviewed Book 1 and Book 2

What I drank prior: I had probably a whole bottle of wine, but since it was from a box, i can’t tell you.

Drunk Overview: ok so, Rhen and Harper are on the outs. Grey and his lady are on the ins. There is a war that’s supposed to happen in 60 days. It’s absolutely stupid… they’re brothers… suck it UP. I’m exhausted.

Goodreads Overview:

Face your fears, fight the battle.

Emberfall is crumbling fast, torn between those who believe Rhen is the rightful prince and those who are eager to begin a new era under Grey, the true heir. Grey has agreed to wait two months before attacking Emberfall, and in that time, Rhen has turned away from everyone—even Harper, as she desperately tries to help him find a path to peace.

Fight the battle, save the kingdom.

Meanwhile, Lia Mara struggles to rule Syhl Shallow with a gentler hand than her mother. But after enjoying decades of peace once magic was driven out of their lands, some of her subjects are angry Lia Mara has an enchanted prince and a magical scraver by her side. As Grey’s deadline draws nearer, Lia Mara questions if she can be the queen her country needs.

As the two kingdoms come closer to conflict, loyalties are tested, love is threatened, and a dangerous enemy returns, in this stunning conclusion to bestselling author Brigid Kemmerer’s Cursebreaker series.

Spoiler-free Thoughts: I want to remind you that I adored book 1 until the last like… eighth of the book… where the author forced it into a series. And then book 2 wasn’t even about them and I’m like, so disappointed in this series that I can’t. This is a hate review, y’all,.. be prepared.

Characters: Literally folks, I’m so tired. I was so impressed with the author for having a disabled character, with CP, but like… by the time we’ve gotten here, how dare that still actually be a disability so it doesn’t really count. So annoying. Harper is a great character but like… how the FUCK do you disrespect this character like it’s done. I do love Grey. He’s a good and decent human, just… makes bad choices. Justt like his damn brother Rhen. Like literally, FOR REAL, how do all of you suck?

Plot: What plot? Seriously, if they’d just spoken to each other, literally at any moment none of what happened would have happened, good or bad. I’m so annoyed.

Writing Style: ITS NOT BAD I JUST DONT LIKE THE BOOK SO HOW DARE

World Building: for a finale i don’t expect anything more for the world so i didn’t get anything

What to pair it with: Bud Light. So annoying

Rating: 1/5

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
Sam
