Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

What I drank prior: BAR CRAWL TIIIIIMMMEEEE!!!! I have been drinking all damn day. Vodka, beer, tequila, fireball, you name it.

Spoiler-free Overview:
hokay so this is a retelling of Snow White. This chick Lynet and her step mama Mina were all buddy buddy till something happened and Lynet thought Mina wants her dead and so on and so forth.

Spoiler-free Thoughts:

I really wanted to love this. I listened to it on audio and I was about it for probably the first 25% and hen I was bored. Like… so bored.

Characters: Lynet was… fine… I guess. But eh. And Mina? She was probably the most relateable character. Have you ever felt like no one likes you? Yeah. Mina covers all that and more.

Plot: this is where o was bored. I felt like thinks happened but not anything that was really necrssay to the story. And then I kept saying “ok come on. Get on with it” so yeah. That’s a thing. (Editor’s Note: damn I was more drunk than I thought)

Writing Style: it was… fine… I guess (I’ve said that a lot.)

World Building: tbh this is where this book was great. Could it have been better? Hell yes. Was it lacking? No. I loved the world.

What to pair it with: White wine

Rating: 2.5/5 Shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: Did I miss something while reading this? What are some of your favorite re-tellings?

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
Sam
