Starflight by Melissa Landers

What I drank prior: We did drunken karaoke… and there’s a surprise coming out of that wink wink podcast wink. Wait did someone say podcast? HANYWAY I started with two sangrias, two vodkas, two tequilas, a shooter, and a beer. Please don’t ask me how I know that but I do.

*pause for twitter loling with authors*

Spoiler-free Overview:
ok so this book reminds me a LOT of the Starbound books. Solera is trying to get to the outter rim for a #newlife bit in order to do that she needs to find a sponsor to get on a spaceship. In comes Doran, a rich asshole. One thing leads to another and they are left behind on a strange star port and everyone is after them. They make it on to a… cargo ship.. in the same way the Millennium Falcon is a “cargo ship” IF you know what I mean. Everyone is after them, they’re stuck in a shit situation and OF COURSE they’re stuck sleeping in the same room..

Spoiler-free Thoughts:
This is another space romance that I am HERE FOR. I have no idea why I love these types of books but like… I LOVE THEM

Characters:man I love them. They’re a bit stereotypical but god, they’re my children. But especially the captain, he’s awesome.

Plot:this book is everywhere. I see you Shopping Spree. I see you pirate wedding. I see you FESTIVAL. But damn, I finished this book in like a day.

Writing Style:I mean, I didn’t hate it but it was no Laini Taylor if you know what I mean.

What to pair it with: white wine, or a fruity rum drink with an umbrella.

Rating: 3/5 shots

COMMENT DOWN BELOW: give me your hate that you love books!

Until next time, we remain forever drunkenly yours,
Sam
