Hey everyone! I had such a good time doing this reading challenge. AND I COMPLETED MY MAGE QUEST!!! Below is my wrap up.
If you missed it, this quest was created by @readatmidnight and I am so excited to join! You can find the original post here
I decided I wanted to be a Mage, and my sign up post is here.
Here are my weekly updates: Week 1; Week 2; Week 3
Just for reference here’s the board:
Here are my points:
EXP: 110
HP: 305
Level: 3
Here’s what I finished and some drunken metro blurb-y thoughts:
MAGE QUEST:
- A book with a one word title:
Nyxia by Scott Reintgen
Adoooored this. Emmett is amazing, loved how fuggin evil the villain is. 5/5 Shots. - A book that contains magic:
Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
Listented to this on audio, mostly on my wat to and from mama’s. Super great finale to a super great duology. *SOBS* 4/5 Shots - A book based on mythology:
Library of Fates by Aditi Khorana
While I adored the setting, cause its something different, I found the story predictable. The writing was beautiful, and its super girl power, and lovely, but not teh best. 3/5 Shots. - A book set in a different world:
Age of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan
I will forever and always love MJ Sullivan. Now I’m in a Royce and Hadrian mood again… 4.5/5 Shots - The first book in a series:
Frostblood by Elly Blake
Typical YA fantasy with all le tropes. I kinda loved her anger issues though. Its like taking my brain these past few weeks an dputting it on paper. 2.5/5 Shots.
SIDE QUESTS:
- Mini Game:
Binti by Nnedi Okorafor
Scooped this up from the library and finished it in one day. What an excellent sci-fi that has teh Feels and addresses lots o’ stuff that are super duper relevant to today. - The Grind:
Last Ever After by Soman Chainani
Man, the exaggeration of the fairy tale tropes are a THING in this book. But I love that. Sofie makes me want to gag, but not nearly as much as Tedros does. I know this all sounds like I don’t like it, but I really od love these books lol. 3.5/5 Shots
For those of you on Twitter, my handle is @willread4booze and I provided my daily stats there on a pinned tweet =). I MADE IT TO 300 FOLLOWERS!!!
Until next time, I remain drunkenly yours,
Sam

Glad to see that you enjoyed Nyxia. I’ve seen quite a lot of negative reviews… :3 Crooked Kingdom and Frostblood are both still on my tbr, too 🙂
