Confession: I have a 9-to-5 job. I know, this completely shatters the image of me lounging about in a peignoir, eating bon bons and being fanned with palm leaves whilst I devour books.
Would I could. Sigh. ANYWAY.
(For more info about the #Booziebookathon see our announcement post here)
I’m keeping my list manageable, because I want to finish it, so Pachinko seemed unreasonable:
1. WHISKEY AND MOSCOW MULE CHALLENGES: Shades of Milk and Honey by Mary Robinette Kowal. This has been on my TBR shelf for aaaaaaages and I just never got around to it. Sticking with the Mule, and adding on an Old Fashioned.
2. SMIRNOFF ICE CHALLENGE🤮: Every Heart a Doorway by Seanan McGuire. I loved her work as Mira Grant and Ginny highly recommended this book. I would rather and will likely shotgun a beer than bend the knee for an Icing. (Ginny has a review here)
3. FIREBALL CHALLENGE (absolutely not, young lady): Wicked and the Wallflower by Sarah MacLean. Because I’m not sweating enough in this weather. As an anti-fireball girl, maybe I’ll make this a tequila challenge. Tequila, the patron saint of poor decisions.
4. IRISH COFFEE CHALLENGE: I’d LIKE to read Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston, but this is contingent on when I get off the waitlist. So my backup plan is Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. And you can bet my Irish coffee will be a frozen one.
Who’s pumped for the readathon??
